2631 NW Upshur

Located on a 40,000 sf mid-block lot, this project breaks down the mass created by its 109 residential units into 4 distinct building masses on a continuous circulation path around a private central courtyard. The buildings are constructed as simple framed blocks on a raised concrete plinth, allowing for below grade parking and retail space along NW Vaughn Street. The blocks are envisioned as simple structures with loose fitting corrugated skins that stretch away from the frame to become perforated scrims enclosing exterior decks.
