The Block 75 development is a high-density apartment block in the geographic center of the city. Comprised of 140 high-efficiency loft and one-bedroom units over retail and ground floor services. To relieve the congestion and provide a collective identity, units are extracted at the center to create an ascending sequence of both interior and exterior public rooms. To mediate the rupture in the building, the grid of units is allowed to pixelate and loosen, creating a formal composition of cellular units acting in collection. |
